General Improvements To Consider For The Move To Steam

Well seeing as you guys are planning on getting this thing steam sponsored it seems like this mods strong point is custom maps and campaigns. But NOT the normal hl2 ones, it seems like theres a few things that really deter people from playing them on OC while with s-ynergy thats all you do in it

So here are a few ideas to help with that, give the admins these options on their servers:


1. Instead of suddenly switching to the next level once someone reaches the level change point, rig it up so theres about a 20 or 30 second delay and visibile timer that counts down till the level change or until the rest of the team gets there
at which point it should automatically change to the next level, this is to prevent rushing and its one of the few things s-ynergy did right.



2. the next is another anti rushing thing, give the admin the ability to disable bunny hopping/strafle hoping or whatever that was. people are just flying through the hl2 campaign maps with it and for anyone trying to enjoy the level it just ruins it especially when it's paired with the sudden level change thing mentioned above


3. Rig up the ammo boxes so everyone can use them at once
this is something that the s-ynergy team reciently rigged up on there mod and I dont know how they did it but It really helps.

It's a really nice feature and really cuts down on the frustration of pressing e on the ammo box and not getting any ammo because some jerk is standing there just spamming e on the damn thing.


4. Alllow freeloook while restrained: In any of the major parts of the hl2 series campaigns where your restricted or knocked out it really sucks that you cant move the camera and its stuck in one position. it would be really nice if this was changed and add to the immersion

All of this is already possible.

1. mappers can do this.

2. mp_bunnyhop.

3. it works like this in 1.35

4. server/ map setting.
