it was a monster for Half-Life 2 that was scrapped and never made it in game.

Why is the hydra soo great anyways? its just a blue stick sortof like the tentacle only its smaller, why do you think hl2 didn't add it?

It was intresting because it wouldnt rely on AI as we know it. It could apparently calculate real time where the player was and move inbeteween pipes, twist itself around pipes etc.

It was a nice dynamic enemy. Very powerful, very intresting, fun to watch. It was just removed because it wasn't fun to fight, I mean you'd see the hydra flash past you and you'd be dead, nothing more to it.

Fighting the hydra SMACKER was fun stuff like half life 1's. You could dodge that and such. Fighting the hydra stabber was annoying. Fighting the tentacle in half life 1 you oculd dodge that and such, stay out of it's range. It's come down on you, not just quicklygo "STAB, you're dead!"

You can just spawn the stabber in the leak , and it doesn't harm you. So you should just say that you read that in RTB.

didn't the calculating of the player also take up huge amounts of memory and cause some memory leaks, not to mention it lagged the hell out of systems?

LAWLOCAUST!

but seriously

There are some things that should be in. I for one would love a hydra. But it is quite impractical. however this model would make a great npc_hunter for ironhelix.

other than that I see nothing else that could be used

other than double jumping and doding which I happen to have code of (yes that's right I actually have working CODE...in C++! which is speciialized for HL2! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)
