not that i know of... (it isn't possible since valve changed some things that caused the problems in 1.23 too)

i think it will tell you that something isn't right with the GCF... or just crash.
because the GCFs are still encrypted if you preload the game, i think

and if you unlock the gcf's with a friend's account? (obviously he has ep2, he gives you his account for a time, u dl ep2 and decrypt the gcf and then you return to your account)
