No air vehicles.
I'm annoyed of just using those.
For once I'd like to try something different. Ground vehicles.
It could be like a uh, escort entry, where they have a Human APC shooting the antlions, and behind that is your ticket outa there.
When you get in the escape vehicle, it starts driving off, goes into a cutscene; and then a huge explosion (probably the Portal Storm wave?) happens and the screen fraks up and goes black. Credits roll!
Antlion Survival Maps need a new turnaround. (Warning WOT!!)

I'll try and TL;DR it.
One or two current antlion survival maps suck, we need a new advanced one liked never done before. You spawn at one base, you have to keep 3 thumpers constantly failing working otherwise the antlions will swarm your spawn. Every 75 antlions an antlion guard will appear, to avoid spawn camping for antlions the antlion spawns will keep moving (3 or 4 will constantly move around on a func_tracktrain or something). A dropship will come a drop you a vehicle, you must get in it, half-way through the valley rocks fall (triggered), and you can't go back, so you must go ahead to the 2nd base.
Repeat.
Goto the bridge, it's been broken, so you must dig a tunnel and plant a bomb where you've just discovered an Antlion Hive, so you use the Vehicle's power source and overload it (you must escaes out of here fastly), you must survive 30 minutes of antlions at the 3rd base before your escort arrives.
Also, areaportals for more detail so we don't lag.
PLEASE, no any other enemies! No multi-shit like gargs and combine etc
Only have about 3 combine for each base (friendly), but they eventaully die (they must have 1hp lol)

oc_starship_troopers has been done for a long time now and will be available in 1.35. Most of your complaints about antlion defense maps aren't issues in starship troopers.
Also, although many of your criticisms regarding antlions defense maps are true this thread reads more like a "make this map for me" post. Some of the things in this list are way to specific and demanding to be effective suggestions. Gameplay concerns in general are fine but you really can't expect people to follow this stuff to a tee when they have their own ideas for a map.
Getting people all riled up about this terrible sin that is current antlion defense maps and speaking of these wonderous defense maps where the players keep moving into new environments and the AI behaves perfectly to the players tactics is a completely different thing than it is to actually make this kind of map.
