Who is the guy who made the maps in hl2? whats his name, or is it a group of people?

The official maps were made by a company called Valve, maybe you heard of them?

It has the name of the people but not the name of the map creater.

No because Valve is a team, thats what I was getting at. They had 4 or 5 guys working on the ending to episode 1. Overall, everyone does their part on the maps. There is no "SINGLE" mapper involved here at all, its a team.

Well there pretty dam good at mapping. It must be really cool because probably like 3 million people play a game on hl2 and it must feel really good.

actualy only about two to three people made the actual map layouts, the rest worked on model makeing, source code, sounds, textures, and more

Which all goes towards the maps yes, they all do their part.
It isn't a single mapper here, the layouts also change on the fly and normally way more than two people make the decisions.
