Lua Implementation

ok i thinked some days to make this thread because i know that you guys really dont like GarrysMod neight Garry itself ok i can understand this but let forget that gmod has LUA.

ok just think LUA will be implemented some day into OC what you guys are thinking or better are going to do with it? first is that you need to know LUA :P but ok i really want to know what are going to do with it? makiing ingame things or making some cool Server Scripts that can for example handle the Servername automaticly or Dynamic Slots? or just making a hud? i mean i dont know if its going to be implemented neighter what things will be in there i dont think that it will have Gamemodes because its just interesting for gmod.

i also wan to know what points speaks for or not for LUA.

Pro:
Better Server Managemant

Contra:

Some kind of Idiots that think that they can make some HAX ... but with a good management of LUA it wont happen :D

for an example and please i dont want some awnsers like uhh gmod has LUA so LUA is bad or a Kiddi language LUA is kinda easy agree and thats why i want that it will be implemented into this modand sure im open to help to explain it if someone dont know what lua exactly is/can do etc.

there some more things to say but i think ill let you guys first say some things :D

i hope that will be some good awnsers ;D

What would i do if lua get implanted into oc? hmm, lets see:

-First i would make a script that prevent players to pick the same map more than one time, its getting annoying when players pick umizuri 5 times in a row.

-Then i would make a script for the hl2 campaign mode that changes the map only when all players are in the mapchange trigger, players that reached the end will be switched to spectator mode, and when you die, you spawn near the other players and not at the map begining.

-And last: a dynamic skill script, the more players, the harder it gets, the less players, the easier it gets.

And of course, better scripted weapons :D

I dunno if this is possible but make a script that changes the strength of a door the more it gets played.

Ive been getting a lot of interest from this idea, but unfortunately most people think Garry owns the lua scripting language and using it would be like stealing from him. In a way, its like using his idea.

wasn´t smod the first sourcemod with lua?

I know nothing, I have no idea of the advantages/disavantages, although w0rf0x's proposal's seem very sensible. I doubt, I'd be using it much, I spent a few hours figuring out Zteers, mapselect_modify.txt last night. And thats just adding lines to exsisting lines. Damn it's like hammer all over again, one mistake and you pay for it! lmao I like the way Zteer hints you through, I got 'dummy' come up when I'd look at a door.
Thanks to Zteer for making it <fug proof>.

i prefer new maps, new npc's and new weapons before "lua"

new maps? its up to the mapper not the mod creator :P and as w0rf0x said with luayou can make some better weapons :P and i mean that some sort of complex coding will also allow it to make your own npcs :P
