Steam acting up again??

Hey guys, just tried to log into steam to do another 5 hour mapping binge, and steam gives me this error:
I'm fairly sure it's not my internet connection, as I'm typing this to you from the same computer, and the only thing that changed from yesterday when I was mapping was that I shutdown my computer, went to sleep, woke up, booted my computer up. Fairly normal.
So what the hell is happening? I need to map! I have only 10 bugs to correct in my current project before trying a compile with rad! I need my steam working!!

You'll just have to do something else today

Like what? There is nothing else to do! Mapping is my life! My opiate! My reason for existence!
Bah... fine... I'll face the light... the burning outdoor sunlight... evil sunlight...

Ok, now it works. Apparently Steam wanted to get me outside.
Weird...

By the way, could you host your old finaldrive map back somewhere around here?
It was awsum.

Hahaha, sure.
Here's a link to a host, though you may not like the host.
I've gotta find yet another place to host my prefabs though... ejoop prefabland died a couple years ago.
I've been thinking of re-vamping finaldrive for OC. You know, like put some respawning enemies 'n stuff? Perhaps some weapons you have to find? Have different enemies in different parts of the track so you have to run over to them in order to kill em?
Could be fun! Damn, I think I'm going to have to do that now...
NO! Bad DaMaN! Finish current project before embarking on others!! AK! So many good ideas, so little hammer...

Thnx.
The map itself it too open to have npcs though. The only thing you could add for OC would be some prop_vehicle_apcs. Unless you add walls and make it into a linear road maze or something.

Well, actually I was thinking that it would work OK for npc's - you'd have one part of the map where npcs are spawned, players go and kill them, then npcs spawn somewhere else and players again go and kill them. And you could have track sections that are unavaliable initially but that come avaliable as the map progresses.
I dunno. Could be interesting.

Just a small mapping question : is it possible to make a combine APC friendly to players?
Like, adding a ai_relationship for the npc_vehicle_driver, would it work?
Im on my laptop, can't really open steam for now.

I think so... don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
You may have to do some tweaking with the missiles, but I don't think it would be much of a problem.
And yea, using an ai_relationship is how I'd do it.

Thats a good thing, I previously tried making the prop_vehicle_apc itself friendly to players and wondered why it didnt do anything.
O lord
