A little Help please

Hey guys,

First....love what you've done with this mod

Second.... Get the word out !

I purchase HL2 Episode2 and fell in love with Half Life all over again.....for a whole 7 hours. $50 for 7 hours not good, so I decided to make some maps....I looked at Insurgency, and Gmod and others, all had their good and bad points then I happened to be reading in JSC fourms (I think) and saw a little bit about your mod.

Down loaded, installed, played, mapped....got my son going on it ( he normally play HL2DM).

SO now I am trying to join in on one of the 4 servers I see and I get the error "Your version does not match the server version" this 1 server is PoIIL [RUS] v1.23 Of course I upgraded to v1.23 and still get the error, any ideas?

Its a bug occuring since a Steam Update, connect directly to the servers IP adress by Console, by typing:
"connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" into the Console.

Connect via the console.

Look up the server's IP address by right clicking and selecting "Server Info", then copy the IP address into the console, and type: "connect <ip address>"

We have no clue why this is happening, but it happens with Gmod9 too. it's really annoying.

This problem seems to have been fixed with the new internal version that is being tested for the next release.

create a new file called steam.inf in the obsidian folder, inside put.

PatchVersion=1.0.0.12
ProductName=hl2dm
appID=320

What this does is fools the server into thinking you have the correct engine version.
This is a hack Valve told us about, and when they actually get around to fixing the problem this file should be removed.

Yea, things are decently active on the forums (despite what Fire_cube might tell you

). Playing is a little slower - usually everybody's looking at empty servers and wishing at least one other person was on, so if you join an empty server you'd be surprised how often you get more people playing right away.

Ello love, you didn't exactly pick the best time to sign up I'm afraid.
But 1.3 should be out soon, so feel comfortable to stay awhile.
The forum members are pretty nice, and spam is few and far between.
