Agrh!

One it's good to see Valve actually acknowledging they have a hl2 mod community something they haven't done for a long time.

I'm happy for Synergy, sad for Obsidian Conflict.

But I'm also in complete disarray that technically different & polished mods like:

Empires, Dystopia and even Iron Grip didn't even get a mention, Valve used to love these guys back in the day.:(
I think mods like Iron Grip and of course us deserve a bit of coverage
and a leash of more players.

As I said in shoutbox they dish out too much individual attention and do not look after the community as a whole, if anything they fragment it.

Even the difference in having five mods featured than having another five mods added six months later is hugely un-balanced.

I just feel dissapointed.

Prehaps garry is due a pay rise aswell?

What about Eternal Silence, they could do with some love, PVK2 ?
I suppose FortressForever was a sure bet not to make it, I'll eat my hat if FortressForever makes it!

Insects Infestation! the list goes on!

Synergy is nothing but an insect compared to Obsidian Conflict!
How can this be possible?

Agree, fixed.

tbh, the steam distribution is their only advantage over us, as almost all of their custom features were removed due to "not being used enough and are not needed as other games like tf2 are popular enough without customisation features as well" which is a stupid reason in my opinion, as a pvp game, which mostly relies on the core gameplay and a coop mod, which relies on story, gameplay and theme are 2 completely different things.

Skidz did send an email to valve asking them if they would include us in the steamworks mods, but he never got a reply. I'm interested to see if this version of syn is as good as the team claims it is.

I just wanted to add to my list above in my first post (I felt compelled to, ok)!

The Hidden: Source
Source Forts
&
Zombie Master.
(Sorry I forgot your guys).

These and the games above are all games that have had some play time from me. Thinking about it, apart from synergy (3hrs max play time). I havent actually downloaded or installed any of the other mods? I attempted to download INS one or two times but never got in game.

Perhaps I should 'check'em out'

Synergy was here before us, weren't they?

Technically not.

What do you mean technically?

Missing Information Coop (aka Obsidian Conflict) was made long before Synergy.

So much synergy bashing... The only difference is how it looks and the fact that it doesn't have OB yet... That's it. Nothing else.
Anyway, I would have liked to have seen different/better mods on there, but whatever.

Cleaned some of it up.

And the difference is actually much more than just that, how it plays, feels and the possibilities for mappers are very different in oc and syn, in both their current and ob version.
