Obsidian Conflict Forums

As of recently, I've been trying to convince the community I'm in to see the upsides of Obsidian Conflict and Down-sides of Syn. One person is down with it, and will say so, because OC Ripped off Syn, is this true..?

(Yeah, You'd gain less people, but still some people.)

Rip off syn?!

I think OC started as the coop mode of the mod 'missing information'. then MI was like frozen or something and skidz and hyper kept developing the coop mode and named it OC.

There are few maps (like one or 2) that can be played on w0rf0x' server, but other than that I think nothing is ripped off of syn (and those maps aren't even nice ones). The greens even had 'very familiar looking' player gibs, after we had player gibs...

Well, maybe someone else who's been playing OC/Syn for a longer time should post here, but I don't think that we really ripped anything off...

Remember that OC map that one guy tried to port to syn? With all the white and weird colors and stuff. Where was that screenshot again?

if you ask me you should tel them this:
stop looking at the past and look at the present syn is fraked up but oc is still better and has more of the coop elements than syn.

so in other words this person is a key person to others as in hes is their representif of those with thouht like why sould i join oc.
better be carefull in what you use to get him to our side.

If he thinks oc is a syn rip off then he must be an idiot, both mods have always been different since they exist, now with syns ob version, they are even more different, syn focuses on hl2, we focus on custom maps and therefore have a lot of features our mappers can make use of, something syn is lacking a lot, i wonder if that 1 person ever played oc on one of the better custom maps or if hes just an epic fanboy.

wel thanks worfox for at least telling me whats the difference was between syn and oc. i would go for custom cause new and different things are good.

We should have rebel vans. I've always wanted them (well actually, I thought of rebel cars and technicals, not vans).
