Well I never... When I first played DaMaN's oc_antlion_attack_01 I thought it was one of the best starshiptroopers/antlion defense maps for hl2 on teh web. Then he released a better 1.3 version then he updated and added ep2 antworkers and made it tougher then W0rf0x made the map even tougher.

Well so you probably know there's a new kid in town called oc_starshiptroopers. If anybody had said to me 'we have a new starshiptroopers map' I would of said nothing could topple DaMaNs mighty map. Then our other mod team mapper Tysn came along and made oc_starshiptroopers map.

Enough said so now I'm like well it is Tysn, we got room for another map of this style most deffinately.

Tysn is a dark horse he keeps his wip pretty well hidden from public or at most he keeps a very low profile of what he's currently working on.
Which is good because he adds that surprise element that mod releases need (incidentally I was also surprised at the recent of ep2_oc_broken_escape_part2c

Having said that with a little bit of google magic you can find stuff about Tysn and what he's up to.

So you've only seen one screenshot of oc_starshiptroopers?

well tysn is very good but he needs some optimizing on his maps sometimes... (i mean they generally work good but at some parts is it visible where it lacks optimization :P)

and yeah this map will be very good, if you liked antlion_attack that much is this map for you :D

I can't think of any areas of his maps that are un-optimised. I've always been impressed with the average 40-60 fps that he's consistantly maintained, and I thought he did a damn good job of designing and populating the lobby map. I think he has a much better approach to how populated a map should be, I seem to always go to over the top and suffocate things.
