I did have the thought of adding custom NPCs, for uses like in the Cardwar map, if modifying it would be possible (adding new creatures).
Any advice is appreciated.

like in GMod? no...
you can only replace the models and change the behavior of existing ones but that's about it

you can start oc_kake and wait for Genie or Odessa, that "NPC" is purly Hammer made, so it is possible technically, even without the help of my coding hands

Hmm, sorry to bother you with this thought, but is it possible to add new npc's with the Hl2 Source code? at all? I know a good amount of c++ to get me around.

as I said, you can't add new npc's (real ones, hammer made can be considered new npc's too but resource intense) unless I add them to the mod...
