Everyone should download the Source SDK Base application from steam now if they haven't already to save some time when you play Obsidian 1.2.

If you don't do it before, it will be downloaded anyway the first time you try to play Obsidian 1.2 and cause some delay (it's about 50mb I think) before you get ingame.

What does the Source SDK Base actually do? when i click on it, it looks like Lost Coast and as its about done loading my computer restarts itself and gives me that "system has recovered from a serious error"

Ripped of from
Valve Developer Wiki wrote:Source SDK Base is an appid setup for mods that need to use the latest shipping version of the Source Engine, without requiring HL2 or HL2DM. It contains the same video stress test that shipped in Lost Coast. MOD's based on the Source SDK Base will update periodically in lock-step with engine updates.
In simple terms, this means that any mod built using 'Source SDK Base' use the latest Source Engine updates when they're released.

Its so our code stays up to date with the engine.
This caused a lot of problems back when Valve would update the engine and it would break mods. Now Valve can update the Engine they use anytime they want and not have to worry about breaking our stuff.
