Just a question on the border of development...

This mod got like 12 to 30 players a day playing it for a total of 0.440 million hours, which is appearantly way to less. Why do you still work on this mod?

In the mean while i would rather give you this question: What makes your mod so 'impopulatet'. Well i might have the answer for you guys, first i like this mod so keep flame posts away, then you shall know that your mod has some really big problem with good maps being available for it. I wanna mention JSC here, the maps are much but not quality. The only map i liked was oc_bunker, the rest seems boring and aren't having a real story sence.

What this mod needs is some 'Story'. Like this is not garry's mod so you need to give a subject. And this won't work if you do not include developer team's own maps. So if someone downloads the mod and start playing it he doesn't have to download all kind of crap when he first joins ANY server ( of the 6 servers in total.. LOL ).

Well then start flaming and/or banning me. Just want to make a point here, really.

This is a coop party mod. It's nice to have a story but it's never nessessary ever. I suggest you get into mapping yourself if you want a map with a deep and engaging storyline, cause most of us mapper's can't do it with simple half life 2 content.

However, if you mean a most basic of story so it's not just fishing and such, I have a map with that coming. Just don't expect scripted sequences and cut scenes to drive forth some final fantasy like rpg story.

What makes this mod important though is that sven coop 2 isn't ever going to come and synergy is not doing it right. This mod gives power to a mapper and it makes hte game really fun to map for. and possible to laod a map ful of features for the average player.

Still hanging on to sven??? Keep hanging, it's been going for a couple of years now and nothing has come out of there, with OC it took six months (I think) and they have a working, stable and fun mod, by the time sven is release OC will work with Episode 4.

Even IF, and that's a HUGE IF. Even if they do release sven coop 2, by hte time it comes out, it will be no where near the polish or have the features this and even synergy will have in the time it takes to make it. Sven isn't a god who can kill ocmpetition with 5 months of work, he's just the first to make coop like this.

Sven is finishing Sven for HL 1 before starting Sven for HL 2.

I agree, alot of the maps really lack depth and creativity. There are a handful of good ones but most are either ports from DM or TC or shit some guy threw together in an hour.

I am going to map for this mod in the future. I have realyl good ideas and devotion and being in JSC for about a year now I know what maeks a good co-op map. The map i'm working on now has a focus on story, it is based on Episode One.

They are making a sven coop2 and are even looking for team members to help with it in the future but for now there working on sven coop 1 so by the time it comes out oc will be a stable mod with so many maps there would be no reason to play sven.

i second the coop point. i'v searching a couple of days for a coop mod to play the hl2 story. obsidian conflict is the only one which is actually working! *thumbs up*

Synergy works fairly well, but they don't have a devoted team. They should have had 4 times more finished in a year.
I don't think this mod is doing poor either, I personally think being in two or more magazines and having players daily is a great thing. Cant say the same for some mods that have had so much more time put into them.

I get the idea, and as i said i like this mod. Just the fact that it lacks population. ;)

Doesn't matter in this case, thats just the way mods are. Official mods / games always have more people because they are "official" and trusted, and better known. In this case I have seen several instances where Obsidian had more players than the ship source. I think thats huge.
