yeah maybe this thread should die....also i mentioned goldeneye because you mentioned conkers bad fur day, MGS, and GTA saying that halo was better. so it isnt very different from what you said I just went back further in time

Also its probably not a good idea to listen to the gaming press they play off hypes and are even more biased than gamers are IMHO.

I guess my opinion isnt that halo sucks but that it isnt as godly as many will say it is which is what angers me the most, also where my idea of it being hyped comes from. seriously though if halo 3 was bad i doubt people would stop playing it, after all...ITS HALO OMG <3!!1

Don't get me wrong, my own opinion is that the title has been over-hyped in some cases and yes compared to pc FPSes at the time it was probably not as spectacular as some people might want you to believe.

However in terms of console gaming I think most would have to agree that it was ground-breaking: driveable vehicles, the whole game playable as co-op and for the time - pretty awesome graphics.

I must admitt there were flaws with the game, I remember the deathmatch to be quite crap frankly - GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Time Splitters 2 (made by the same team who made GoldenEye and it shows) still rank as my favourite multiplayer FPSes on a console for deathmatch. I also remember some of the SP levels to be a bit repetitive.

But on the whole did I find Halo boring when I played it at release? No, I still fondly remember the warthog sections in co-op mode. I think I subconsiously compare lots of modern co-op action with that very section.

But if I were to play it now, would I find it boring? Probably. Although I still haven't played Halo 2...

And yeah I think this thread has been discussed to death now.

While it probably did bring the best *console* co-op. I think Serious Sam had the best co-op, mainly because of the huge battles and such. While it's SP/DM kinds lacked in places, I thought SS had one the best co-op ever.

Anyways, on the Halo topic, I didn't really play Halo 1, but I do remember Halo 2 co-op and that was quite fun... I just don't really like Halo right now because I don't think it deserves the attention it gets. Sure, it was extremely fun to goof off on/do stunts on, and had some well hidden easter eggs, and some of the best *console* co-op, I still don't think it deserves all of the hype so to speak.

Serious sam is fun and halo 1 was fun for the first dang year but then it got overated and halo 2 ad no changes but duel weapons but people dare challenged it to cs and half life games which digs the ditch, or stirs the bees, or breaks the knees, Rumbles my tumble if you catch my tokyo drift.

Source Engine is a breakthrough although it is overhyped, still a goodmade. Remeber, the HL2 leak's engine name is Source, older build though
Source Engine is getting better and better
