Final Fantasy XI and Everquest arnt easy for newcommers.
I never got round to playing those two (I know, shame on me for not playing EQ), were either of them any good?
I played Lineage 2 for about 9 months before I couldn't stand the grind anymore. Which incidently, is the reason I eventually gave up WoW.
I've played Final Fantasy XI and I can say that it was boring as frak. Half of the time I played it was spent in waiting and downtimes. Then again, I started MMO's on FFXI so I probably just wasn't used to starting off a game by waiting two days for the patcher to... well... patch. D:
The game obviously has it's strong suits to have so many people playing it, but it hasn't kept my interest long enough to take me to the fun-filled center.
well as for the gampaigns not linked thing someone sayd, there kinda wrong. Every game is indeed diffrent but you can link your games(add new cd-key) and 1 hero can travel to the other expansion do all the quests and sell stuff to guys who dont own it. Also alot of noticable changes take place with every expansion. When factions came we got ourself a whole other island for pvp combating, also alliances and alliance vs alliance battles. With each expansion we get new guild halls. Somewhere along the way we got titles( 60% of continent explored, protector of tyria ect). Each expansion brings 2 new classes, compared to other games its like receving a new class in diablo or WoW. Also guild systems get better and better. The events are everso wonderful (halloween, christmas, easter) . What else has been added? hmm...well ofcourse 100% contect with each exp, new armors, hero faces, weapons. Eehh they have made some harder quests for the original game before any expansions. Oh they added minipets with nightfall wich can be ofcourse sold to other players who dont own nightfalls. And they constantly monitor the game, they removed a nasty habit of people "running" lower levels to towns where they should be at by adding more monsters in the way.
Final word. Each expansion as a new game , + 100% new stuff. EAch exp very diffrent. First was middle age european theme, second japanese, third egyptian. And i love the stories of each one. Second has a story of how a great warriors death caused a major acopalyptic event that froze the sea and turned forests into stone- come on, with such imagination you cant have a bad game.
Also id like to add its realy late here 5am(up all night) o my text isnt as pretty as usually.

Well yeah, but when you compare Factions to Nightfall and Prophecies, its just really mediocre (Factions was the 2nd, Proph the 1st, and Nightfall the 3rd)

Game gives no hints on what you are suppose to do. Its more going out and exploring without getting your ass banged in the process. Once you get up to level 50 you can do a lot. Higher levels you start going to places like sky which are very cool.
WoW on the other hand is imo more of a carebear game. Real easy for anyone to pickup and figure out. Very straight forward and things are easy to find. This actually makes it a lot of fun until it gets repetitive as hell.
FFXI and WoW are generally the same in how they become very borring after about 2 months.
Sometimes I find it hard to believe people can play these games for so long, like an entire year. Thats just crazy.
