The forums are down.
ThePlanet are apparently trying to find out why. It looks like a hardware fault at the moment (which almost completely rules out ‘being hacked’). I’ll try to keep this post updated on the process.
UPDATE The work is going ahead. They’re going to add a new hard drive and install the new OS to it.
UPDATE The server apparently isn’t booting into the OS at all. The plan is to put another hard drive in it, with a fresh installation of Windows on it and boot up using that. This should keep all the data secure on the other drives.. which should mean it’s recoverable. The data is the biggest priority right now - I haven’t backed it up for ~3 weeks.
