Whilst watching a few Portal Videos on YouTube I came across a Portal Imitation mod or whatever you want to call it.

I wonder if valve are pissed or impressed? I suppose if you want to get the feel for Portal then this Mod is worth a play! and maybe it can introduce stuff valve wern't planning on in the future. I haven't played and I'm not really planning on, I have enough to keep me busy and I'm patient enough to wait for the real deal. But still it's of interest.....

Looks interesting, I'ma check it out, doubt it will be any match for Portal but it can't hurt, I doubt Valve will give a crap.

1/4 life made a mod for it that makes it more like portal download that its called exite 1.5

Yeah I saw he changed the models to look like Portal.
You can play this Mod just with steam and sdk base with a couple of other things/programs from forums. H-L2 not required.

This is no way a professional mod, it is a fun side thing while waiting for Portal. Expect excellent quality maps, models, portals in Valves game, and Multiplayer later.

Did I see those magic words 'multiplayer' ?

I couldn't remeber if it was multiplayer or not!


I agree valves maps puzzle wise will be far superior, They have the time and the resources.

It's a MP mod, but it's buggy as all hell and you have an 40% chance of falling out the map.

The mod isn't as good as the real Portal, sadly.
