Realistic Games VS Non-Realistic Games?

Post by Vasili »

So real or Not Real?
This is a Serious thread and not a shit-post.
When I say realistic Games I mean the likes of STALKER and Far Cry 2.
When I Say non-realistic Games I mean Half-life 2.

I find that Non-Realistic Games are better because the games can be more spread out and have more options of design, a game gets shit and boring and you are only likely to play it once if you die from 2 gun-shot wounds, but one where you are half man half oven and can take 30 bullets before dying is much more fun.

Pretty much. Like San Andreas, GTA4 ended up being a realistic third-person shooter.

When I saw the thread title I was thinking it was more like:
Non-Realistic = Team Fortress
Realistic = Half life 2 (bedsides a few things)
"few things" = soldiers health, weapon holding, and the fact that unarmored-citizens have more health than armored soldiers...

Though the way your talking about, I don't have a huge liking of the games; FarCry2 are not as fun as games like fallout3 or HL2.

I would pick neither to be honest (if it was an option) I like both quite equally. I didn't hear anyone complain about CoD 4's realism concepts

I like the fact that you dont have a recticle on Far Cry2. It forces you to use the sights like you would a real gun. and I liked how your guns would jam and shit out on you after awhile. Realism can be a good thing. Just not too much. Gameplay > realism.

Yes, lets take Fallout 3 for example, it has some realism, that makes it more fun, though in some games, realism can make things frustrating.
