A dome like I want it is not very hard to make in XSI. You just make a half sphere and invert the polygons, then cut off the top to be able to add more brushwork/models there later in the map ;)
After that, the UV-map and texture which shouldn't be that much work...

I just added a water basin with a statue (still the HL²-horse, but I'm thinking of making another one one later or at least a stone or gold skin for the horse) to the room. Maybe I should make a fountain particle script, lol. Btw is there a way to create sprites with a refract shader? Didn't have the time to test it myself yet, so does anybody know?

Thanks for the feedbacks, guys. I was experimenting with the ambient lighting last weekend and all came out pretty bad I'll sort the blackness out next weekend once school is over. I got final tests coming next week. :3

@Blues - I doubt you'll be able to add in any fancy shader to sprite, since they're 2D image.


@Deathy - Yup, color correction is enabled in the map. Took a while for me to find suitable map. :)

@Fug4life - Yes, I got addicted to playing OC again thanks to my friend. Would be nice to see more players on though. I'll see about your advice. :P

I guess you must be able to at least create a refract shader sprite, because otherwise those gas or heat wave things valve uses for env_steam wouldn't work. BUT - I don't know if you can connect that with translucency, because somehow I'd like to create realistic water drops/jets which will perhaps not work.

After all I just reinstalled my OS so I'll first have to install Photoshop and stuff again -.-

Edit: Unfortunately I currently don't really have any spare time, but see what I put together in another 5 or 6 minutes yesterday:

That looks pretty cool, kinda halo/scfi-ish, like something i would totally put in a map series im currently working on.

So far your screen shots are WIP perhaps you can make the above statement when you have some playable substance. :wink:
