General WIP thread
Well all of my WIP is pretty much on hold as my computer won't turn on. I have alot backed up but there is a lot that will lay dorment for a while.
I've now got hammer on my other less powerful laptop.

Well, I WAS making a pretty cool zombie fighting map called oc_infection, basically a non-linear Left 4 Dead-ish thing. Still haven't gotten around to fixing the zombie spawn points and removing tau cannon.
Other than that, I've got this new project. It's a last-stand-y game where the story is that you and a group of rebels had set up a small fort to help along refugees...until you realize you created it a few kilometers away from an underground Combine outpost and they're already wondering why a couple of humans are on the roof of a stone building. So you have to fight it out till a rebel reinforcement troop drives by with explosives to detonate the outpost. It has this uber-awesome intro sequence with the Combine troop placing the bomb on the door and stuff, plus my own custom music. Can't get a screenshot in at the time, but I'll have plenty of media tomorrow, I think.
I also heard very few new mappers use the briefing. You'll be happy to know this map has its own custom briefing
I have bad luck on forums, though. If you're gonna say my idea could use heavy improvement or that I'm a noob or whatever, feel free to bash me. I still don't know what I'm good at. Certainly isn't modeling, anyways.

Tonight I opened hammer for first time in a few weeks,
I'm trying to build some solid 256x256, subdivided, curving displacements that arch 90 degrees and gain height of 128 units. Trying to get some tunnel shapes sorted out in hammer so I can start to determine the shape of the map lay-out in my head/on paper.

^ I gave up on that method, I cant see how the vertexs are invalid but nether the less when I re-open hammer, the displacements screw up, flicker in the camera view. I didn't check whther the vertexs moved but I guess they did.

Looks a little empty especially the ceilings, apart from that looks good.
