WIP Human Model

Post by Saiax »

Now with college finished I can spend more time learning modeling off the net, here is my latest work.
Just a basic figure right now so not much details.

Question.
If I do become good enough, whats the maximum poly count for source player models?

Welcoming any type of feedback, good or bad :)

Ideal would be 5000-9000

Limit: 13000 (sure? dont remember it exacty). With more it starts to lag.

Hey man, nice to see a human being modeled, but before you work on it more. Please don't use mesh smooth.. or any mad smoothing plugins at all :P It will only give you less control over your mesh ;)
With character modeling it's all about poly flow, I will link you some stuff that will really give you a big boost in the progress :)

Some really good modeling tutorials (they show different ways of modelling, but you can choose what fits your needs) :

http://www.secondpicture.com/tutorials/ ... ax_01.html

Some handy theory about face modeling :

I'm sure there's more, but this will give you a nice start :)
