Pine/Evergreen trees with snow.

I've decided not to use the ep1 trees. I really need pine trees with snow on. They apear to be quite rare, all the ones I find links to are pretty much dead. There was one german site with, but I couldn't navigate the site:( If I find the site again will one of you native speakers help me to the link?

Oooo... pine trees with snow on them would come in handy for another map i'm thinking of... I wonder if it would be possible to just reskin the ep1 trees?

Your more than welcome to try, I only got paintshoppro, and that needs reinstalling, and I wouldn't really know what I'm doing.

iirc the phys_temple map designed for the gmod community has pine trees with a bit of snow on them. You could always extract from that I suppose. D@sole's hl2dm coop map "coop_dasole" also has pine tree models. I'm not sure if they're the same or not, I don't think they had snow on the leaf texture.

Yeah but I don't think the creator would appreciate someone ripping shit from their map, because the last thing OC needs is more hate.

I'll take a look at them, and I'll need to read up on how to do it with PaintShopPro. No harm in trying. :D

Ok, I need a point in the right direction, information on this sort of thing is in short supply,

So, If I change the 3 pinetree textures (taken from the materials folder) of yours (do I have to change all three? & do they blend together?).
Once Ive done that I have to recompile the model?
changing the names of everything?

So far I loaded up one of the textures and well, lets say roughly painted it like snow, I have no F**king clue how it will look, so a case of trial and error, but still I'm having a go at it.

Any pointers ?

Changing the current models texture will override it.

If you want the reskinned model to be a totally new one, you gotta hex it.

just looking around here a little...

Still want to add a snow skin to the pine model?
(well, last post was in september...)

I know a possibility to just change the model so the old skins wouldn't be overwritten, but a new one would be added... (yuo would then have to pakrat it into your map)
Some nice programmer from my German mapping forums made a nice tool everyone of you might use to change skins and different properties of models:
Mom ([Mo]del [M]odifyer) - made by Jodokus
English readme files are included, I think.

However, I'm not really sure if it can process models compiled for Ep2, but at least for me it works correctly with the ep1 models.

Well I had ago at reskinning but I'm Noob and only have paintshop pro, and to be honest not a clue.

But yeah!

Well the Obsidian one would be fine or the ep1 pines, ep1 pines also has sky box models you know like the cluster trees, would like all converted Ideally!
