ty shiftey and blues. i think that info will get me started and is probably all i need. like i said previously, i'm an experienced mapper, though thats not to say i've made maps for all different kinds of mods, and so obviously i'm not going to learn something i didn't know existed

) i'll be able to get started with doing stuff.
The money model is also included with the game afaik, or it's part of a game that i mounted when i used that sdk program thing i found here. so don't need to get that.
I also found a program called crafty... well i've had it a while, but didn't know you could export maps as vmf files with it. It removes all brush work though, and brush based entities

so makes it hard to explore the map, though i can see the entities and how they are setup in relation to each other. Not as good as a prefab though, cos it just dumps everything in there, with no brushes to guide you.
Without the brush based entities as well, it's hard to work out how stuff like the day/night system works. never had to do something like that so i'm a bit clueless on it atm, so if anyone could shed light on how that is setup, i'd be greatful.... though tbh, my map would work without that, well, the whole dying at night thing, but would like to know how it works. i guess it has something to do with brush based hurt entities being turned on when some kind of fade to black thing happens. i doubt thats mod specific though, so if no one explains it, i'll live
