Apparently not.

If you can TF2 on high, you can run L4D on low.

L4D is 7.5 GB.

anyone knows how to disable bumpmaps and specular?

mat_specular 0 /mat_bumpmap 0 don't works

They managed to remove a lot of commands, there are pratically no support commands for the multi-core systems they are built in as standard although to help here is the full cvar list so far that the demo uses:
