Ah yes, reading through some of Valve's AI code makes me chuckle at times, sometimes it's due to the comments, and other times it's in surprise from the interesting behaviors that I never noticed while playing. I have to hand it to whoever implements AI in such detail, because it's no easy feat - it takes more than just technical know-how, it requires analysis of how their real world counterparts behave, and abstracting that behavior into a form that fits onto the framework that is the base AI code, AND remains compatible with the gameplay experience.
