Portal Multiplayer Fun (This is not a fake!)

I experimented around with Portal together with Guhlius.
Theoretically any Source Game is Multiplayer Capable. So we tried it with Portal, first we got kicked from our Server after a few Seconds. Then we noticed that this not happens when VAC is turned off.

You just need to:
-Enter the Portal Start Parameter -unsecure

In console:
-maxplayers X (to the amount of players you want)
-map (whateveryouwant)
-sv_cheats 1 (in order to get the all Weapons AND the Portalgun)

Every player has his own 2 Portals, and you can shoot weapons through it. Physics also work good. It just crashes when a player get near it, but anyway, it a whole lot of Fun =D.

thats awesome plus it would make for some very interesting maps haha apart from the whole crashing thing, so i take it the game cant handle the fact that there are 2 exits and 2 entrances???

No, it CAN handle the Multiple Portals really good. Guhl just figured out that it maybe dont crash when you get through the Portal once with Noclip, after that it seems to work... lets see...

also es muss mit -INsecure gestartet werden.. und es hat leider nicht funktioniert mit noclip... es crasht schon, wenn man in die nähe kommt.. wer weiter testen will kann das gerne tun... mein ansatz is den bereich indem die pysik um das portal berechnet wird ändern (sv_portal oder sowas auf jedenfall mit nem x und nem y wert) habs noch nich probiert weil ich angepisst bin da es immer das komplette spiel crasht und nich nur den server an sich

english: u have to use -INsecure not unsecure as startup option... noclip was not the solution.. so we still crash the game by using portals... i stopped stesting becaus i realy get pissed cause when it crashes it does crash badly... u have to restart game and it just got to annoying... if u want to keep testing i would ollk for the pysic-box-thingy they were talking about in the commentarys it somethin like sv_portal_ or portal_ with an x and an y value, maybe if u shrink those vakuse or if u make them bigger it might work

ok just tested my theory... shrinking the area where is a stronger phys engine does not help too... it still crashes when i get close to it

Most likely the physics bubble causing trouble, and I hope it is fixable without engine access.

just found a command called "crash" it needs sv_cheats 1 and guess what it does ^^ . If it would only crash with sv_cheats 1 i'd say i found the reason, unless the programmers might access this command with sv_cheats 0.

Seems b0rked to me. Doesn't bring any fun to us with crashes like that, but i guess seeing that there is multiplayer possibility, there might comes a multiplayer update or Portal Multiplayer or anything like that...
