What will HL ep3 bring to the table

give your thoughts or what you know about this, even if they have not said they are making it. Say what you would like to see from single player to engine.

Im really not sure what could be added... only improved

Seeing the progress and improvements of the engine, I don't expect much, I am thinking the engine additions will only bring it up to date with other engines. Nothing ground braking what-so-ever.

The only thing I think will be awesome is the story.

Also, I am thinking Valve would rather work on L4D3,4,5,6 and TF2 updates then work on Ep3. Valve said they were going to release episodes within months of one another, I can understand it extending to a year, but not 3 fraking years.

Valve needs to release that fraking EP3 game already!!!!! Some of us are waiting! Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 are good enough for now! Well actually I think the schedule is actually Portal 2, and then what Gary just said maybe. Either or, Portal 2 is next, it's all over the Gamer Mags.

Portal will be released at the end of this year.

Episode 3 may be next year or the year after.

I read somewhere [Of course I forgot where, though] that the way they were doing the episodes was that "each episode would introduce something entirely new"

EP1 Introduced:
HDR Lighting
Full-Time AI Companion

EP2 Introduced:
New Enemies (Hunter, Fast Zombie Torso, Advisor, Acidlion, Antlion Guardian)
New Weapon - Magnusson Device
Wide-scale environment for gameplay
Dozens of new models, textures
And of course the Orange Box engine it was built on.

Judging by the fact the Borealis was expected to be your next point of interest, I'd say probably new snow environments, models, and textures. New NPCs are very likely, as the odds of finding a zombie in the Arctic Circle seems very slim to me. Maybe we get an actual finished Ichyosaur. (It wouldn't be much different than the 'Sharks' in OC _diving, though, out of all likelihood)

New weapons?Well i think.But about long time that VALVe didnt put new weapons yet.

For example,HL2EP1 and EP2 didnt receive new weapons,so,my thought is that EP3 will NOT receive no new weapons.Period.

You'll get the portal gun on the borealis. Also a time machine portal. So you can go back in time and drop things on Breens head continuously through portals.

but in all seriousness here, dont know if i might be all that hyped up for ep3, considering the fact that they said that it would be released on one year, then it was pushed back to another year (rinse, lather, repeat)

I agree with habicore.

So,just like a portal gun can be in a ship,people are not sure about it,so lets think more about what would come in ep3.

Right now i have no idea what would been.Maybe a Combine Guard gun(for killing a certain new type of a combine soldier,maybe an overwatch one or elite one)
