Model request/advice

Post by unconnected »

In the off chance someone reads this and knows of a decent model of a portable generator, could they point me in the right direction?

Similar to this:

I apologise for being dumb if one turns up within the HL2 .gcf

As far as I know, there is no generator in the source engine to date.

But, if you're feeling saucy, you can try something that has gotten me out of a jam or two.

Make a cycler entity, and then start looking for "parts" of the generator. A gas can, a frame, a small motor, junkyard stuff, parent it all to 1 part or a func_Physbox, and then run your level.

It will look unique, albeit a bit crappy, but then you don't need 3rd party models!

Nice idea, I appreciate it :)

I'll give it a go and post a screenshot when its finished (it's gonna be in the dark so it shouldn't matter too much).

I could model that, but texturing is a different story.
