Ok, seriously, are you guys for real?

Please don't get me started about revealing IP's and what's related to that, I'm not in the mood for that, just give that guy the server IP/DNS and Port so he can join...

tracert <domain> ftw. There's just no point trying to hide it because if you were actually successful in doing so, nobody would even be able to connect at all, i.e. firewall!
Apparently, Valve can't make games beyond the number 2.
I think the only time we'll get a Source SDK code update is when it starts having purchasable hats integrated, i.e. hatconomy.

Please do not make assumptions you are not knowledgeable enough to make - that just backfires on yourself.

The direct connect works with steam itself. It will automatically connect the server. Alternatively you can use this: server.raidensnakesden.net:27015 (it works)

Nelco TOR proxy DDOS attacks are a nightmare to stop since the attackers IP addresses changes every 3 seconds. that's why i'd rather use hostname rather than a direct IP.

Because a hostname totally doesn't map to an IP.

fact is the main issue is IP spoofing. (cloning)

I've never heard admins or owners or server officials ever say anything about "IP Cloning". I just hear complaints about DDoS or hackers.

The thing is, people can connect to your server, because they can find out your IP.
The hostname gets associated with your IP, so you simply have to do a DNS request, which is what Source will also do one way or another, and get the servers IP to connect to.

If you'd succeed to hide your IP somehow, then people would also consequentially be unable to join your server in game.

well if these SOPA/PIPA laws fall into place even the IP's could get blocked!
