some water texture problem.

Post by Andrax17 »

So, i have these fancy cooling tank's in my map
Image

but i have problem with the water, since i want the tank's to have water in them, but when i only texture the visible side's of the water, it wont show in the map after compile and if i texture both sides of the water, i cant see the metal thing's inside the tank's.

Does anyone know how i can make players see both the water and the metal things inside the tank's. Ive tried different thing's but never got it to work the way i wanted it to work.

I'm not sure what you mean by both sides of the water. It is a cylinder right? There's more than 2 sides of a cylinder.

It sounds like something with vis leaves, try making the tanks func_details. Make the water func_water_analog or whatever it is? Or maybe just try using a different water texture, the one you're using is kind of ugly anyways :P
Oh, don't be such a baby. Episode 3 will come out.

*Turns to Archimedes*

No it won't.

i'll try that.
and the water is arch, so by both sides, i meant outside and inside of the circle

EDIT: Yesh it works now, thanks :P

I would have done that different, making a refract texture and env_bubbles inside to give the illusion of water.
