allright not what i was looking for, are there anyother tools that allow you to custom edit the terrain?

You the vertex tool and things like that? Or converting pictures to terrain?

i tryed to use the vertex tool but it won't let me select the points

Displacments, easy easy. And for realistic terrain using heightmaps is an easy way to go.

dicplacements are hammer based ground morphs.
Like you create a flat terrain with grass texture and then give it a little natural feel by making it not all the same level, so you raise some places, make bumps and little mountains so it isnt so flat. Thats called a displacement.
