Inserting Battery Puzzles

Hopefully people understand what i mean, but how do you make them inserting
battery props into a socket to activate something. Like the ones in the 2 maps: "oc_docks.bsp" and "oc_quest_b2.bsp"
If somebody who knows can tell me that would be great thanks
I'm not bothered about the little details like sparks and all that,
just the simple insert battery = activates and remove battery = deactivates.

i think what the offical mappers did in docks is either open the vmf somewhere (because there a few examples) or decoppiled it , because if u look to the right from spawn at a house it is from a stage in hl2. and inside there is a microwave from hl1 that cooks a headcrab. if some of you didnt know that THERE YA GO

Yea, its really quite easy. A teleport with a filter so only batterys can fit, on touch to fire w/e, and motion dissabled on the battery once its placed.

Thanks i'll give it a try, i only need 1 battery slot for now, but i'll need multiple later on for other bits along with a random event trigger.

You can "unplace" it because the mapper made it that way.

I've managed to do the battery thing with only 1 battery, but for some strange reason it wont place it down properly,
it seems to be floating or tilting when i insert it. In them other maps it goes in only 1 way and its lined up perfectly.
I can't seem to sort that bit out.
