A 'gauntlet' style map for Episode 2.
I managed to get permission from netwalker (Derek Page) for this map to be included in my next upcoming map pack. I'm releasing now because the map has been modified and I just want to make sure all is well and the map runs as it should.
And yes you'll need EP2 mounted in mod options in order to play.

There is likely to be a couple of bugs left in this version, but I think for the most part it is very playable at this point. Keep in mind it is a Beta that I worked on a couple of months ago, so don't expect a polished product. I'm releasing this for fun and as an example of a minigame you can make for Half-Life 2.

Yes a turret defense map, No the Monks sadly don't fire although I didn't attempt to get them. A couple of npc's will try attack but the majority are focused at making it to the finish line.
There's a certain beauty to this map, I think because I spent a lot of time testing this, that after hours of blazing turrets and ragdoll's flying about the place there is nothing more satisfying than your 35 odd turrets shutting down - no more targets to aquire.

Just a note, mapadd is pretty good though I have to just make changes to the game_text's flag to read 'all players' (which I'm pretty sure is do-able via mapadd).
I've got permission for another map that I'm modifing for oc but I'm hoping when skidz n hyper get in action they can modify flags for point_hurt for me. Plus one or two others in mind.
As for gauntlet the only map bug is the antguard sometimes gets stuck at spawn, but luckily the mapper due to the way he set it all up, the map continues on to the next wave. This bug happens on and off and does not effect the map end (so I consider it pretty minor). I'll take a look to see if there's anything I can do mapadd wise but, unlikely.
I've left the original amount of spawning ammo the same, I know whilst playing with new people I got requests to add more. Sorry this will not change, its a turret map and map success depends on those turrets a lot more than the ammo you carry. Whilst I was playing on DrewR's server we lost on our first try but won the second time quite easily. So ammo stays as it is!

OK, I addressed the issues of the game_text so it shows to all players.
I have updated the link in the first post.
For anyone who has downloaded the first release before 01/10/08.
If you don't want the hassle of re-downloading. All you need to do is open up the gauntlet_modify.txt (located in you obsidian\maps\cfg folder).
Delete the text inside once you've opened it and replace with this text written below and save it.
Right whats next on my list 0 things to finish!

sorry DrewR no changing the monks weapons, it's not my map and its quite an intended feature by the maker, so I'm not going to mess with it.

Just a note on this one guys. I Did try sort out the monk, but it's not change-able via mapadd. Basically he's a template npc and his flag is set to server side ragdolls.
