So I was just looking at lost coast and thought that this might do well sat under water somewhere:

Image

I'm refering to the huge 2 part ship wreck, it would be awesome down in the depths of the water (Also there is a huge boiler thing on the right).

Also the crab cage I'm holding any use for something like that? Harpoon maybe aswell?

Also:

I see there is a fast looking boat being modeled by Vesuvian, so this would be a cool slow & cheaper version of transport across the water.

Image

Also there is a small blue boat and the wooden wrecked boat, maybe they could be put into the map aswell, perhaps the small wreck can also be at the bottom of the water.

And a fisherman merchant would be cool in the map?

So basically why isn't this map using lost coast stuff already? You could just mount lost coast and use some sweat arse rocks and textures aswell?

What would he do? buy fish/sell bait+rods? would need to somehow make room in my fishing rod template, will see if i can at some point.

I'm trying to avoid using any content that requires mounting stuff, some people don't have things or just don't want to make the game unstable by mounting more stuff (yay ATI cards). Also i notice that whenever a server switches to something that needs ep2/css/etc, half the server leaves. Wonder if pakratting lost coast stuff would be allowed.

Whoops, found another potential cause for crashes - the breakable things underground leave behind logic_case's when they are destroyed, thus going underground a hundred or so times would pass the entity limit. Fixed for v5.

Edit:

Version 5 uploaded. New features:

-sapphire, ruby, and small boat model (Vesuvian)
-can now buy extra battery cases incase (haha) you manage to lose them or something.
-sharks shouldn't get stuck on the surface of water now
-displacement tweaks, to make more bits climbable
-fixed an obscure possibility for the game_ui entities to crash the game (need version 1.35 released to fix the main cause)
-crafting area can't accidentally delete things now.
-new fish model thanks to BigFoot
-rocket, you have to do a bunch of things to get it to launch like load it up with fuel and open the silo doors. For now, all the rocket does is give you some money for launching it.
-new delivery job (buy cargo at warehouse, deliver to spawn quickly before its value drops too much).
-oil rig changed, batteries are now more important
-boats should now be easier to get into
-oil sell value reduced to $175
-crystal sell value reduced to $50 - its main purpose is batteries, not selling
-crystals made slightly rarer
-crash bug fixed with underground area

summary of delivery job:

basic cargo: cheap to take job, sells for small amount, drops in value slowly
unstable cargo: expensive to take job, sells for large amount, drops in value slowly-ish
electronic: moderate cost to take job, sells for reasonable amount, dies if touches water, drops in value quickly

(v5)
Just a small issue I'm not sure if others are having this but I couldn't exit the pod on the speed boat.

Yar, the dreaded some-people-can't-get-out-of-the-goddamn-pod bug, hoping this will be fixed when they release the new seat entity things.

Also, v5 is buggy as heck, going to fix it up soon.

i wonder, why do you always change the merchants name? how about just calling it oc_diving? would be less a pain to update (also it's stupid as you don't change the merchant in each version no?)

oh and lovercase v in the file names is also recommended

ps: here are the screens of my base in v4:

Spiffy grav-gun skin.

Very surprised at sudden release, was expecting this to take a matter of weeks. Well done Bean.

v6 uploaded, mainly for fixing bugs.

-rowboat now works
-oilrig regen rate is now what it was meant to be
-getting stuck in pods is possibly fixed, not sure
-speedboat now has passenger pods on each side, pressing E on the side of the boat will put you in the appropriate one, and pressing E anywhere else on the boat will put you in the drivers seat
-rocket launch should be fixed now
-bank, used to deposit money easily because using the transfer points function can be annoying. Good if you are leaving the server but people wont stay still long enough. And no, you don't get interest from stored money.
-blocked ichies from going in underground area
-changed skybox
