ocf_deadland mini mappadd script (v2).

*Features*

Added co-op lives, players will have 3 lives for the map from start to finish.
Added zombine wave to filter in as the fast zombies die off (I thought seeing as there is a combine dropship it wouldn't hurt to add some zombines).
Added a minigun weapon.

Minigun credits from the previous gmod release (Thanks to Son of Brimstone):

-LUA-
Mad Cow Base: Worshiper
Minigun Weapon: Son of Brimstone

-SOUNDS-
Minigun: Unknown, Reload: Unkown + Merged parts of M249 sound.

-MODELS-
Minigun: SMOD Team, obtained with help from Noobilater.

Lots of stuff edited by me, v&w model shellejects, reload sound.
I also created a hud weapon icon as a place holder untill someone makes a better one or I manage to figure out fontforge (I cant even install it).
The w_models muzzle flash has been giving me trouble I can't seem to get it right. And note the w_minigun is held awkwardly.

I had been thinking about this map as a lives map for a while, and the minigun gave me a good excuse to 'beef' the map up a bit, & the zombines to even the odds a bit. :wink:

That map would probably be nice with lives and zombines. Always something I liked abou that map.


Any chance we would have a team of 16 with miniguns?

It's quite possible.

The mini gun I've toned down as much as possible, I've gone from the weapon holding 1000 to 225 bullets, So in total you can only carry 450 bullets at a time. It's a powerful weapon no denying, but it empties quickly. If need be I'll re-address the mapadd later on and stop the weapon respawning. I can always add a few more zombies, there's room to add a few more on screen at once (fast zombies are tough in this map).

Have always liked this map but it became boring quickly and there was a lot of confusion at the first time about what the point is about it.
It's 10 min survival but nothing tells you so.

It wasn't challenging at all anyway. Could just run around and evade the fast zombies and you win. No trouble at all.

I wasn't really looking for the storyline when playing, quote: 'The Zombies are here' tells me all I need to know and what I should be doing, shooting zombies!

Seriously though, I know how you feel, I do like the map for what it is, I justw anted to make it a bit more of a challenge, the only real way to spice the map up is remove a lot of ammo, drop the lives even more, add more fast zombies, maybe some more crabs w/e?

Perhaps with some of the options/features mentioned in 1.4 would work well.

Something that I noticed, Fug. Is that one time I tried to mass up every zombie I could get to follow me and went to the front door, but when I ran in they didn't follow me. Is that intentional?

Not sure, remember please Skidz made the map all I've done is modify it.
I know for a fact fast zombies and zombines come in the front door. Can't remember about normal zombies. I know they go in the back door no troubles.

Do they seem to try to go through the door and get stuck or avoid it like there's an invisible wall?

I tried and they do come through the door (If its open). Though the door will close not long after you've passed through it.

I'll probably be updating this when I get back from holiday.

Today I've been trying to get a double barrel shotgun into this modify script, but ran into some troubles and didnt want to spend to much time on it.

Picking up the minigun crashes you (using res file to dl stuff from server), didn't test it if it works when extracting it all from the rar because i couldn't be arsed.
Shit like that is why i hate putting up custom stuff that isn't mine.
