Indeed, there is a way of fixing this without coding but maybe ill just make it so if it kills someone while a player is holding it the player will explode into a firey mess of guts and shit.

This is the problem, people will be able to pick them up before they fall over once and do this. And making them disable themselves on pickup would look stupid. So I've been trying to figure out a good way of doing this, and so the only way I can think of is disabling pickup all together.

Hey I have an 2 ideas for a new weapon from the turret =]
It could be that when your up close to a turret you could make a tool [maybe that thing alyx uses on doors and stuff] so it has a bar on screen showing the progress bar of swiching it to good.
Or you could have a thing where where your holding a turret and you can throw like the manhack.

Yeah like a 5 second delay and if he still holds it then he dies
