Everyone is familiar with the digital 'Use' within the game, where you move up to a button, door etc, and hit 'Use' and, assuming the appropriate prerequisites have been met, the button activates, the door opens etc, etc.
I'm happy with that.
Now we come to the Analogue 'Use', where you walk up to the door crank wheel, the lift switch, etc., and have to hold 'Use' for the whole operation, to get the door all the way open, get the lift to the right level.
How do you implement that?
I suspect there's something blindingly simple that I've missed, or is it down to some clever technique?
Any help, as ever, gratefully received.
Thanks,
CJ
Digital 'Use' vs. Analogue 'Use'.
Momentary stuff in GoldScr were always buggy. I think Valve used prop models instead of special brushes in Half-Life 2 (see the canal maps). All you need to make is a momentary door (you can change "pitch yaw roll" to make it work like an elevator) and momentary button controlling it. One more thing: momentary stuff always act weirdly on multiplayer games.
