AR2 fire sound?

Post by -=Grunt=- »

Don't really know which section to post this, sorry if I posted it in the wrong section.

I downloaded a new AR2 model from FPSB and it's custom fire sound won't work, the .WAV file is currently in the "obsidian\sound\weapons\ar2" folder named "fire1.wav" but the sound doesn't play when I fire my AR2.

Instead it plays the vanilla AR2 sound.

Is it in the wrong folder or it has a wrong name?

Thanks in advance.

Uhm, the name may be wrong. I'm not an expert on this kind of stuff, I would suggest sticking to the regular sounds anyway unless they're reloading sounds.

The AR2 default sound sucks with an M4A1/M203 model though. :(

Obsidian use a different sound name. Rename your file ar2_pl_fire.wav and it should play the sound.
But as obsidian use distance sounds for ar2 (the sound change depending on your distance with the source) it could play too loud or made some strange noise (or nothing, it depends on the format of your sound file). If it contain a custom sounds for the npc fire, I suggest you to copy this one in obsidian\sound\weapons\ar2 and rename ar2_pl_fire, distance sounds should works fine then (the npc sound is obsidian\sound\weapons\ar1\ar1_dist1.wav).

Thanks a lot, it worked. :)

The distant sounds are pretty loud though, but it's alright.

Also, I can't seem to see the M4A1's magazines as ammo world model, does OC use a different name for it?

Heres the link of the skin I downloaded:
