John Freeman looked at the ground and found a WEPON! So he picked it up and fired it at zombie goasts... in front of a house.

Re: Black Mesa - Whatcha think about' it?
Nope, because I'd rather wait until it hits Steam, probably along with achievements, and grab them on the first playthrough. Besides, I've heard that it still has teething issues at the moment such as occasional crashes and the like, so I'll wait until they get those resolved.
Apparently, Valve can't make games beyond the number 2.
I think the only time we'll get a Source SDK code update is when it starts having purchasable hats integrated, i.e. hatconomy.
Please do not make assumptions you are not knowledgeable enough to make - that just backfires on yourself.
Tick me off, and I'll be sure to give you the golden treatment. Haven't you heard? Silence is golden.

By far the best thing made on Source.
Like happened with Blueshift when Azure Sheep beat to it, Black Mesa repeats the same story, beating the VALVe quality.
Now after beat it, i gonna take a look inside. I want to know how the splats are in your weapon, or the tracers, or the amount of model in a map.

The game is indeed by far the best thing made in Source. Most sounds and particles look definately amazing.
The mapping is wonderful, most thing very similar and very much improved. There's things that didn't have in HL1 if you memorize the levels by heart. There's part that in the game looks even much harder thna in HL1, which it feeels extremely GOOD.A very good challenge I must say, even though playing on Normal. And still not finished.
The securite guards this time can use shotguns and magnums.Yes, you heard right, they used to use glocks but now, NO MORE.

I havn't played in too far.
But I like it, its what I wanted (a mod team to go for the depth, ya know all the voice acting and animated sequences npcs do, I love the fact you wait around a bit you'll see extra stuff).
Some of the textures are a bit average, but generally on the whole well done.
I haven't got past crowbar and glock, need to find more time to play. I hear they cut alot from Surface Tension (which is a bit :C also my fav chapter). But we'll see...
I take my hat of to them though they captured the spirit of the game.

It's alright, but the marines are too quick and accurate.

They're professionals with their weapons, what do you expect?Vasili wrote:It's alright, but the marines are too quick and accurate.
If you want easier challenge against them, be a pussy and play on Easy.I did on Normal and I didn't complain.Died a lot but no complaints.
Re: Black Mesa - Whatcha think about' it?
They did feel a little overpowered. But I do prefer the perfect weapon proficiency over insane amounts of health.Vasili wrote:It's alright, but the marines are too quick and accurate.
Re: Black Mesa - Whatcha think about' it?
ah yes that was one major flaw in half life
Re: Black Mesa - Whatcha think about' it?
I never played HL1 before BMS. So I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not.
Re: Black Mesa - Whatcha think about' it?
the soldiers in half life were pretty tedious to kill iirc
