Oc_Insane
Hello there ladies and gentleman, This is ECLWheatley bringing you a new incoming horror map, although it's not really that finish but atleast I got some progress.
Alright then let's start with some screenshots shall we?
So far we made some progress we created one new custom_weapon and also new textures although the map is far long to be finish but of course I will update any news about the map.
Oc_insane will features:
New textures (of course)
New models (Still working on that)
A horror play that will force players to separate and have to find a way to get back to there track.
Unexplainable scenes.
Custom weapons.
And of course the Team and credits (more will add incase more of them come)
ECLWheatley : Mapper and Textures
Twilight Sparkle : Mapper,Textures, support and Ideas
Brainjuice : Scripter and Coder
Maestro Fenix : Finding out the reasons why My hammer crashed alot and for helpful tips (Thanks alot mate!)
The map requires Counter strike source to avoid missing models and errors.
Progress meter:
To be honest this is my first official map to make so far am still learning more abilities that hammer can do well so far am doing good.
The release Date will be always be *When it's Done*
Oh this is my first post in this forum so Hello!

Re: Oc_Insane
As i saw the rest of images that aren´t shown here, i can tell that, although is a bit blocky, it looks good.
I really hope the gameplay is good, because the scary factor is up.

Re: Oc_Insane
Hmmm, still too blocky. Spice up the geometry. Add pillars, sides...
Re: Oc_Insane
Horror maps are always a lot of fun. I like the custom fonts and textures, but the map itself looks like it has way too much unused space. Some of the ceilings also seem a bit high, but that might just be me. Otherwise, looking forward to how this turns out.

Re: Oc_Insane
i prefer crowbars but considering the map places you in an unkown underground place, itd make sense youd tear of a pipe in order to have a weapon of sorts.
so good thinking.

Re: Oc_Insane
Not bad, although there are too much space yet that is empty. I recommend to you take a look some GoldSrc maps (doesn´t matter what game/mod), to learn about how to improve the brushwork.
Re: Oc_Insane
I kinda agree with Meastro, its looking good but lots of space seems to be there with no intended reason, try to think what is the reason and construction method behind the building (metal framing etc), usualy does the trick for me
So many idea's, So less time

Re: Oc_Insane
Hello there ladies and gentleman am Back I been working on some things....that apparently cost me lots of time (maxiumly 2 months or more)
But I got some progress at least I having problems with a few textures and lighting but I got somethings to show to proof that am still working on the bloody map.
Also the second screenshot with all the guts and the blood and all that needs really big work so basically the second screenshot basically not a full result or even close to it..since it looks a bit umm.....bad displacementlying, hopefully more work will be done...
(Also why the bloody hell whenever I uploaded any pictures they quality is bad) Anyhow more work coming soon

Re: Oc_Insane
Finally you are giving more detail to the geometry, good.
Protip: You can avoid that those barricades sunk on the floor if you disable their motion (check flag). Also, if you don´t want that the players can break them, on the "minimum damage to hurt", put a high value like 99999 so it cannot be broken.
I see now what you wanted to do when you showed to me those photos. Is "ok", but the texture titles (repeats) too much. Try adding a bit more of detail to reduce that effect (don´t ask me, i´m not a profesional 2D artist). As you said, the displacements needs a bit of more work (since you want it look organic, make it more irregular, making it wider on some parts and narrower on another parts).
About the photo quality, maybe is due Steam, that it put it under jpg format. Bind to a key the command "screenshot", so you can take high quality photos in game (but put first at maximum your specs, of course).
