STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
It seems that an error comes up when trying to connect to the offical server or some other servers.
STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
Is there are way to avoid this?
P.S. I've went on a server that had been downloaded with SteamCMD and it didn't appear to have an error.

Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
A quick Google shows this thread which bottles your problem down to a few things:
- You are using a cracked version of any game mounted by OC, in which case you should go buy the game.
- Steam fraking up their files, in which case you should clear out your Steam folder except for steam.exe and steamapps.
- You are running the Steam beta client update, therefore you should opt out and restart Steam to fix the problem.

Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
you should point to the best option first:
disable beta
if that does not help you should read the other 2, I'm pretty sure it's only because of the steam beta tough~ (not going to opt out because of that~)

1. I have HL2, CS:S and that bought.Ny wrote: - You are using a cracked version of any game mounted by OC, in which case you should go buy the game.

2. Just tried that, re-downloaded everything but still does the same thing.
3. Steam beta isn't opt in.
I still can't get this error away.
Thanks Neico and Ny, but it just didn't work
EDIT: It isn't happening to me only, it also happens to people I know.
I would think servers must now download the updated Source 2007 dedicated server from SteamCMD.

Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
well I tested some servers and neither worked, so either those were all still on hldsupdatetool (because I know that the official is) or this error goes deeper...
Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
Valve released a fix through SteamCMD, so all servers should be updated! It updated some *.dll's...
Mine is now working after update. Now i need just how to figure it out about mounts with vpk files...
(damn, two weeks insisting with volvo about that)

310 is the AppID for Source 2007 Dedicated Server,
if you don't want to go into the Dedicated Servers List.

yeah but there's more to it if you need the mounts though. that's something that's being worked on.

I've got this error today too
I running in windows 7 64bits , didn't join steam beta "setting is OFF" , also I had my Steam reinstalled , no use , any OC server still give me "STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048"
Now I can't play OC anymore

Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
The servers aren't on SRCDS 2007 downloaded from SteamCMD.
You will either have to wait for the server to be updated or join a server that works.
P.S. The W_A_L_T_E_R Russian server has fixed this, as well as a few servers which updated their name to (SteamPipe).

Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
I have this error as well, it appears to have been caused by an update on the 19th, as friend of mine has not updated his Steam client in a while and has been able to play just fine.
I can confirm that I was able to join the server labeled (Steampipe), and the Russian servers seem to be updated.

Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
Never join russian servers, the usually are no-steam and might even have something in place to steal your steam session ticket (which can cause you the loss of your account in worst case)

Re: STEAM Certificate Length Error 0/2048
Russian and Japanese servers are so different from the rest, that if they had the code, it would origin different mods.
Anyway, the russian ones surprised us several times, like having maps previously considered as lost.

Hello,
just a little question at the side: Is it possible to fix the Mounting problem? I thought to fix this, we will need an update of Obsidian Conflict.
Sometimes, I host a Server on my own PC and play with my friends. But we can not play Maps which need Mounted Content. If we destroy the doors in the lobby, I only have the message in the console, that the map (for example de_dust from Counter-Strike:Source) can not be found.
