If you want people back, post a large desine document. Fill it with the features you have, screenshots, and other stuff. I'll gladly map a few peices for your mod to help bring back the mapping community. I only started mapping a couple weeks ago, but I'm a fast learner:
Me from 3 days after I started mapping:

Your getting there, get some lighting in those screenshots. Fullbright is nasty.Power-Mad wrote:If you want people back, post a large desine document. You will still want some shades of light in the map, even if the original was an arcade game based entirely on color.Power-Mad wrote:There is, I just didn't want that room to have shadows so I filled it with very bright lights.skidz wrote: Your getting there, get some lighting in those screenshots. I can't belive I'm just learning this now, I just figured out how to carve. Up until now, everything I did was cut based, the actual level parts tooke forever. Anyways, progress is speeding along rapidly now. Unless you plan on release this mod anytime soon though, like this summer, I'll have to make the first version for synergy .

Do you mean openings to hallways? I know when I started using hammer I thought it would take forever to do simple things but now its just so fast. If you mean you are carving holes in walls I would still advise against it.
Its just an old ( Since HL1 ) rule, and most cant believe Valve left the carve tool in there.
