Maestro Fénix´s Factory (models showcase)
Re: Maestro Fénix´s Factory (models showcase)
It is, though the energy "window" is a bit small. HL made them huge and due to that, they were quite easy to spot although they were never illuminated.
I'd pull a Serious Sam (laser ammo) and make the window itself translucent and have two planes in the object serve as the glow, to give it depth

In fact, it have the same size that the original model. About the depth effect, i thought it, although later i rejected it because it would be look weird.leilei2 wrote:It is, though the energy "window" is a bit small. And yes, i´m remaking the Battery and the Medkit for remplace the previous custom models of the Siege map. Once this is done, i´ll try do something more complex.

Although the buttons and screen are temporal, i dont like how it looks the medkit. I dont know texturing ;_;
Apart of that, looks like this replacement for the healer works, so i´ll see if i can repeat this but with the HL2 arms.

Re: Maestro Fénix´s Factory (models showcase)
Unless someone have a better tutorial about texturing with Paint.Net, this will be probably the look that will have in their final version, but with letters, logos, etc...
(Note: the tire texture is from lostandtaken).

That Med-kit is rather TFC-esque.
I usually run from rockets.
Pretty straightforward.

In fact, i was inspirated in the medkit of Sven Co-op, although later i discovered that TFC have it too.RocketRunner wrote:That Med-kit is rather TFC-esque.
Moreover, the model which uses Sven Co-op, is a improved version of Ambient.Impact model:
(Yes, the medkit that the Siege map uses is this).

Is nearly done. The upper screen is self-illuminated and animated, and now i´m investigating how i can make a part of a texture glow with the alpha channel (for make glow the lower screen and the buttons). And after this i only will have to add the arms to make the model remplacement of the healer.

No longer appears to be a plastic thing. Also, the energy texture is now animated apart of glowing

Re: Maestro Fénix´s Factory (models showcase)
Well, the experiment of this week, apart of being if is possible to modify the HUD like in another VALVe games, was if it was possible create a replacement of the Healer, with a different skeleton, model and animations.
Is possible:
(OK, Steam Cloud failed to me uploading correctly the photo, so i have to upload it manually):
The only bad of this is that i suck completely animating the model, but apart of this it "looks good".

Model made by WilliamT, adapted by me
Although i´m getting better at making models, i´m not having any progress at texturing, :c
(and yes, i also think that the turnstyle has a simple design, but the real model has the same form).
Re: Maestro Fénix´s Factory (models showcase)
Get yourself a copy of Photoshop or atleast Gimp (free) if you're serious about modeling and texturing. Paint.net just doesn't cut the mustard.
