Obsidian Conflict IRC Channel
Obsidian Conflict IRC Channel
With the upcoming release of the game, we all feel that we should bring the community closer toghther and make it easier for them to communicate with one another.
mIRC is a program which allows people to chat, and be able to talk to the developer team (if there, there of course). mIRC is available at this website:
http://www.mIRC.com
Here are the details for the Obsidian Conflict IRC:
Server: irc.gamesurge.net
Channel: #obsidianconflict
How To:
Download and run the install. Extract it to your choice of destination i.e C:/program files/mirc. Then hit run. Remember to allow this program to access the internet, by adding it to your list of allowed apllication in your firewall, if you have one.
mIRC will start and show the Options Dialog and require you to fill in some information.
In the mIRC Options dialog you see an options tree structure. You can expand a branch of the tree (a Category) by selecting an item (Connect, IRC, Sounds,..) and clicking on the little 'plus' sign. A list of sub-items will unfold. At first only the main 'Connect' menu item seen above, has to be filled in. Select 'Connect' on the option tree.
Fill in a name, email and whatever Nickname you want to use. Alternate name is optional.
Now back on the option tree select 'Servers'. Click the Add button.
After clicking the Add button a new window will pop up Fill in the following:
Description: irc.gamesurge.net
IRC Server: irc.gamesurge.net
Port: 6667
Leave Group and password blank. When you finished typing all that in click the add button.
Now you should be back to the mIRC Option window again on the Servers page still and the server you just added should appear in the IRC Server drop down menu.
Click the Connect To Server button. Once connect type in the window
/j #obsidianconflict
We hope to see you there!

You can always check 'New Server Window' if you're connecting through the options screen. Alternatively, right-click the connection button in the top-left corner (the lightning bolt/s) and select 'New Server Window', then manually enter the connection command.
(ie, /s irc.gamesurge.net to connect to GS.)
