Steam Treasure Hunt
So apparently Valve, the carfty bastards that they are, decided to make another reason for you to spend money on things that you don't care about. They basically made objectives for you to complete by buying games that you really don't care about, in hopes that you will get drawn, out of the other hundreds of thousands of people that will spend money on games that they don't care about. All to get 5 games from the top of your wishlist for free. Great odds right?
Each objective completed earns an additional entry into a drawing, held every two days until December 20. Complete any ten objectives by the end of the contest, and you'll earn an entry into the drawing for the 100-game grand prize.
Also, because this would probably attract another 250,000 people: completing 5 objectives will net you the 'Bounty Hat,' finishing 15 will get you the 'Treasure Hat,' and completing a whopping 28 objectives will earn you the 'Hat of Undeniable Wealth and Respect.' Which probably means that only about 274 lonely people will actually get that last hat. But thousands of others would have spent money on games they don't care about a bit too late, and did not manage to get the achievement before the clock ran out for those 2 days.
So basically, if Valve keeps up with trying to attract attention to games that, plainly put, nobody gives a shit about, and are worth below $5, you'd probably be out of money before you buy you're 10th. But luckily they have a plan for that, because I doubt that all of them will be worth below $5.
So my question to you is: How many of you will actually even try to buy all the games needed to complete even half of the objectives?

100 games if you have 10 achievements before 20 of December (you can choose or Steam will give you?).
Every time that you have get a achievement you´ll can win the first 5 games of your wishlist.
And later the hats, that probably will be a shit.
OK. If i have lucky maybe i´ll can get 10 achievements.

Re: Steam Treasure Hunt
think il mostly bet on my luck with the achievements that dont require me to buy any of the games i dont have.
in otherwords i dont think my chances of winning are high since my luck isnt much.

Yea. Your entire pc hangs at a black screen. You can sometimes hear sounds going on but you can't do anything. Only option is to reset your computer. Black screen. The most annoying thing is that there is no error report.

The only new achievement that i can make is the comment in a Steam friend profile. You must set your account to public (comments and view your profile) if you want the achievement.

Re: Steam Treasure Hunt
I wonder what the next objectives are because the games in the objectives now do not appeal to me. At all. I'm 2 objectives away from the 15 obj hat.

Re: Steam Treasure Hunt
Still have more 5 objectives until December 20th :S
And the problem is that I don't want to buy games that I will rarely play so,it will be difficult for me.
